This year the Christmas decorations have taken on a definite 1980’s vibe.  Look at Santa’s Reindeer in the above shot. Walkman. Check. Roller-skates. Check. Leg warmers. Check. If reindeer could have big hair and shoulder pads then it would be complete.

 

*Of course with a title like Skateaway we are referencing Dire Straits song of the same name from their huge selling Making Movies albums from 1980. The video clip starred Jayzik (Jay) Azikiwe as the skater girl. She was a performance poet, singer, actress and daughter of a former Nigerian president who sadly passed away in January 2008.
