Well I’d like to say that Christmas crept up on me unawares, but the reality was that mince pies Christmas pud were in the shops back in September. I still find it hard to celebrate what is essentially a Northern Hemisphere winter festival in the middle of a baking Southern Hemisphere summer. But I like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a happy, safe and prosperous New Year.
